Local Community News
Warm Hubs
Several warm hubs have been opened locally to provide residents with a warm, safe space, some also provide advice, warm food and drinks and entertainment for children, listen to our audio news for details.
- Epsom Methodist Church: Warm Wednesdays 9am – 6pm, until end February 2023
- Ruxley Church, Ruxley Lane: Every Thursday 11.30am – 2:30pm, until end March 2023
- Fireside Fridays Ewell Hall, London Road, Ewell noon – 3:45pm and St Mark’s Church, Great Tattehams: Fridays 11am -3pm
- Merland Rise Church, Tuesdays 10am – 6pm excluding 27th December
- St George’s Church Cafe, Ashtead
- Epsom and Ewell Libraries everyday except Sundays and excluding Wednesdays at Bourne Hall
Veteran’s Meetings
The Veteran’s summer tea party, organised by Surrey County Council, the Epsom branch of the Royal British Legion and the Epsom Rotary Club was a great success. Listen to our audio news for details of future Veteran’s meetings and contact information.
MYTI Club Tadworth
MYTI Friday night Youth club in Tadworth has proved a great success, in one of the most deprived local areas and with a growing waiting list to join, fostering good relations with local police and a reduction in local crime. Tattenham and Preston neighbourhood ranks 7th In Surrey for overall deprivation with 20% of the children in absolute low income families. Our audio news explains who and why it was founded.
Sutton Council
Sutton Council are moving into a new Civic Centre after purchasing the St Nicholas Shopping centre a year ago from a private owner, they also have plans to build housing in the town centre. The council are looking for a developer to help plan the changes to the town centre, as explained in full in our audio news. d
