UK Disability History Month
UK Disability History Month runs from 16 November to 16 December and aims to promote disabled people’s rights and their struggle for equality. This year’s theme is Disability, Children and Youth and to coincide with this Surrey History Centre (SHC) has announced a collaboration on a project to uncover and share the histories of children at schools for the deaf and blind. Warm Wednesdays
Warm Wednesdays are back at Epsom Methodist Church from 10am to 6pm. This year the church has partnered with a range of local organisations including Citizens Advice, The Mary Frances Trust, Epsom & Ewell Employment Hub, The Good Company, Surrey Community Action and Surrey County Council, to offer a weekly one-stop advice support cafe on:
- Mental health and wellbeing
- Benefits, welfare rights, housing and rents
- Energy saving in the home and dealing with energy suppliers
- Finding a job and accessing training
- Budgeting and managing your money
- Getting help in a crisis
Hear the Marsden Kids
NHS England London has launched a consultation into proposals to move cancer services for children under 15 to either St George’s Hospital or Evelina Children’s Hospital in London. Local resident Jenny Houghton from Epsom, has organised the #HearTheMarsdenKids campaign against the proposals. For more information visit Petition
Christmas Community Postal Service
This year’s Christmas Postal service with 7th Epsom Scout Group will be running for the first two weeks in December. Collection and delivery can be made in Epsom, Ewell, Ashtead, Epsom Downs, Cuddington and Stoneleigh. Yellow post boxes will be placed in these and other areas including four in the Ashley Centre. At the bargain price of 50p per card for local deliveries, last posting date is the 14th December.

St Martin’s Parish Church
St Martin’s Church Epsom Christmas Fair will take place on Saturday 25th November, 11am until 2pm.
Ashtead Choral Society
Ashtead Choral Society invite you to hear their next performance or to go along to rehearsals which take place every Monday from 7:45pm to 9:45pm in Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall. Sing Carols for Charity
Carols for Choir and Audience, Saturday 9 December 2023 10am – 12 noon at Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall
Refreshments will be available along with a Festive Stall selling crafts and produce. This year supporting: Joes Buddy Line and Dyscover.
Snow Queen Audio Described Performance
An audio described performance of the Snow Queen will take place at on Sunday 10 December 2.30pm at Polka Theatre with a touch tour starting at 1.30pm. The audio description will be delivered via a headset. No changes will be made to the performance itself.
