This interview was conducted on 10th December, prior to awareness of the new COVID-19 variant and the new Tier 4 restrictions in the borough.
What a privilege it was at the end of this very sad year to share some personal Christmas thoughts with Chris Grayling MP for Epsom and Ewell. Sparing time to chat via Zoom with News Editor Jan Collier, Chris inspired us all with safe and wonderful ways to keep the festive season magical, including walks in the fresh air listening to birdsong and imbibing woodland aromas – what better way to walk off that Christmas pudding!
Working mostly online and via Zoom, rather than face to face or at Westminster, our special guest has been able to work with local schools, hold his regular surgeries and talk to constituents. Occasionally visiting local businesses, socially distanced, Chris stressed it was essential to bring back businesses and support the local economy.
Chris will spend Christmas at home in Ashtead with his family, but will he wear a Christmas jumper and does he help with the cooking? You will hear all about that and much more, along with his special Christmas message to all our listeners.
