We have a news story from the Epsom and Ewell Borough Council (EEBC) website of how, on the Independence Day of Ukraine, 24th August, EEBC thanked hosts from the Homes for Ukraine scheme. They thanked 60 hosts who have welcomed Ukraine people into their homes. EEBC works in partnership with Epsom and Ewell Refugee Network to find placements. Ultra Low Emmission Zone
We have full details of the ULEZ boundaries around the borough and which hospitals and organisations are in the ULEZ area and therefore subject to a payment of £12.50 for vehicles that are non-compliant. We have details of which bus stops and buses are affected when Cromwell bus station in Kingson is closed for a year whilst upgrades and renovations are carried out to make it part of the Superloop bus network.
General News
An annoucement from the Ashley Centre is that it is now dog friendly, although some shops may not allow dogs on their premises.
Congratulations to Appleby House Epsom Care Home Team who have been shortlisted for the national Arts in Care Homes award for their work in the home and in the community.

La Boheme 2023 Epsom Playhouse 12th September staged opera Tickets £20-22 at Epsom Playhouse.
Epsom Social Food Hall regular Wednesday Quiz 7pm to 9pm with many prizes as well as the jackpot rollover. Entry is £2 per person.
Heritage Open Days from 12th to 16th Septemver 9:15am to 4:30pm at The Horton. Learn about the history of the building and people who worked and lived at The Horton.
Family History Day on Saturday the 16th September 10am to 4pm at Epsom Library, run by Epsom and Ewell Local and Family History Society. No need to book but please take any information you have, for example names, dates and documents to investigate your family tree.
Ewell History Day on 16th September 10am to 5pm at Bourne Hall museum. A free event which will take you through history from the bronze age, with a visiting smithy, television’s Dr James Dilly, who will cast a Bronze axe head as it was done during the Bronze age. From Epsom and Ewell in Roman times through the Tudor period, with a chance to chat with Henry VIII, to World War Two when you can hear what it was like at the Battle of Arnhen. Cafe open from 8am. Health and Wellbeing Fair 23rd September 10am to 3pm at Rosebery park. A fun day for all the family celebrating activities that aid health and wellbeing. Funds donated to Epsom and Ewell Age Concern.
Epsom Picturehouse at the Ebbisham centre is aiming to open in 2024 and are building behind the scenes to bring an array of films to Epsom.
