Epsom Gas Holder Site Development Under Consultation

A new planning application for the redevelopment of the Former Gas Holder Station East Street Epsom is open for public consultation until September 28. The proposal includes the construction of 456 residential units across five blocks, ranging from 8 to 12 storeys high, with 10% affordable housing. Walking the Talk at Epsom Downs for Suicide Prevention

Epsom and Ewell Borough Council hosted a walk-and-talk event at Epsom Downs to mark World Suicide Prevention Day. Over 65 attendees discussed mental health and suicide prevention strategies, with contributions from local mental health advocates. SES Water Hardness

Residents of Sutton, Morden, Ewell and surrounding areas are experiencing increased water hardness due to repairs at the Cheam Water Treatment Works, which will continue until the end of October. SES Water reassures customers that while the hardness has increased, the water is safe to drink and use. Man Arrested After Possession of Imitation Firearm

A 28-year-old man was arrested in Epsom town centre on September 11 for possession of an imitation firearm following a stop-and-search operation by Surrey Police. Officers are increasing patrols to ensure the safety of residents. To report any concerns, visit the Surrey Police website.

Leatherhead Lottery Winner Disability-Friendly Golf Course

David Lawrence, a £1 million lottery winner from Leatherhead, has built a disability-friendly mini-golf course in his garden. Lawrence, who has spent decades fundraising, is welcoming local disability groups to enjoy the course, which features themed holes and promotes inclusivity. He has invited local organisations including the multi-activity disability sports club Leatherhead Swans, supported by the Physically Handicapped and Able-Bodied (Phab) charity.

M25 and A3 Slip Roads Closed for Upcoming Weekends

National Highways has announced significant disruptions at Junction 10 of the M25 for two weekends in October and one in November. All slip roads at this junction will be closed as part of ongoing improvements to the Wisley Interchange, which are expected to be completed by summer 2025. Conquest Art Exhibition

Conquest Art is hosting its Annual exhibition at The Horton in Epsom from October 16-26. The exhibition will showcase the diverse work of artists with disabilities, with visitors invited to purchase artwork, cards, and calendars. For more information visit Conquest Art event.
