Inside this issue
Edition 2417 of the Epsom and Ewell Talking Newspaper covers a range of local stories. The Re-engage charity supporting older residents in Epsom and Ewell celebrates its 60th anniversary, continuing to offer tea parties and befriending services. The planned relocation of the town hall has been postponed until at least 2027, with the council opting to remain in the current building.
The Epsom and Ewell Climate Action Network (ECAN) has launched, aiming to help the community live more sustainably. NESCOT students’ artwork is now displayed at Ewell East Station, and the Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People is set to close after 90 years due to financial difficulties.
Other highlights include a council overspend on homeless accommodation, a showcase of young performers at Epsom’s Picture House, the arrival of a national railway exhibition train, and the introduction of live facial recognition policing in Surrey.
