Inside this issue
In Issue 2433 we highlight a wide range of local public interest stories across Epsom, Ewell, Sutton and nearby areas. Articles range from Sutton Council’s strong SEND performance and Rosebery School’s new charitable foundation to concerns over St Helier Hospital’s temporary maternity relocation despite major investment.
There is also practical news for residents, including planned disruption linked to Mole Valley District Council repairs near Leatherhead Recycling Centre, Southern Gas Networks and Surrey County Council Highways works in central Epsom. There’s also news on the Environment Agency’s proposal to replace the Hogsmill River stepping stones.
Community and cultural stories feature prominently too. We cover the Epsom and Ewell Town Twinning Association supporting NESCOT, Epsom and Ewell Refugee Network and Julian Jackson through the Cyril Fraser Awards; Stand Up to Racism Epsom and Ewell drawing around 100 people to a unity event. We also cover NESCOT students working with the Jockey Club and Epsom Downs Racecourse to restore the Pat Eddery memorial bench.
