This week’s Epsom and Ewell Talking Newspaper local news section begins with several articles from the Epsom and Ewell Borough Council Borough Insight newsletter. We begin with the news that there is still time to put in your nomination ideas on local heritage sites to the Surrey Council Local Heritage project, details in the link below.

We have the delightful news that Epsom Choral Society has been chosen by the Epsom and Ewell Town Twinning Association to win the Cyril Frazer Memorial award.

Thousands of hand-knitted poppies have been used in a stunning display of rememberance to celebrate the Royal British Legion, decorating the Surbiton branch in Hollyfield Road. There are many Epsom and Ewell Rememberance day events taking place this week, as featured in the news and listed in the details below.

We feature a police story of how anti-social behaviour led to Section 60 Dispersal orders on the Longmead estate in Epsom and the Watersedge estate in West Ewell from the 30th October to the 1st November.

Remembrance Day Events in Epsom and Ewell 2021

10th November: Mayor of Epsom and Ewell opening of the Garden of Remembrance at Bourne Hall, members of the public are welcome to add crosses.

11th November: Armistice servcie at the Clocktower Epsom.

13th and 14th November : War Memorial Wreath Laying

14th November: Rememberance Day services

14th November: Rememberance Day Concert: The Central Band of the Royal British Legion, for details and tickets visit Epsom Playhouse

Swail House Association Events

Friday 19th November: 2pm-6pm – Swail House Get together with games, drinks and snacks.

Friday 7th December: 7pm – Team Quiz night Swail House, individuals will be put into teams and there will be a prize for the winning team
