There was quite a stir in our studio last week on June 21st, when our Chairman Judy Sarssam drew the winning names in a free listener raffle to win two pairs of tickets for a special musical extravaganza at the Epsom Playhouse.
Producer Neil Sands had personally donated the two pairs of tickets for our listeners to go to his production of Land of Hope and Glory. His patriotic musical spectacular is filled with nostalgic songs from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s and was produced to co-incide with the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. The West End cast, who’ve been touring with the show all over the country, have more than fifty costume changes as the voices ring out with a rousing selection from Last night of The Proms, and many old time favourites. The grand finale draws the show to a close with patriotic flag-waving and a live poppy drop.
We send our grateful thanks to Neil Sands for his generous gift and look forward to hearing more about the wonderful show when our winners return.
*Land of Hope and Glory is on at Epsom Playhouse on Thursday July 12th at 2.30pm.
